The file contains scans of ship documents as well as some explanatory information on the Webbink's arrival in the U.S. and how the information was retrieved. | In August 1992 Greg went with Harold to Carbondale, Illinois to visit Ed Patterson, a second cousin [Ed appears on pages 87 and 89 of the Webbink genealogy book - his grandfather (Heinrich Albertus) was a brother of Harold’s grandfather (Henry August)]. Harold had learned that Ed had heirlooms originally belonging to Albertus. During the visit, Ed showed us the “book” on the left side of the table in the picture above. It was a photo album from which many of the wedding pictures in the Webbink genealogy book were copied. Ed also had letters and documents, some of which also appear in the book, and many of the carpentry and shoe-making tools of Albertus, which he used, among other things, to make wooden shoes. |
